Looking back on her father’s love affair with the Limpopo Lowveld and sharing some of her personal journey, Paul’s daughter, Marion Geiger, and her husband, Fabrice Orengo de Lamazière, offered insights into the Motswari heritage that runs deep, is rooted in community and embodies the gracious spirit of its founding family.

Accommodation at Motswari Private Game Reserve:

The Main Camp includes 15 en-suite Bungalows that are interspersed in proximity to nature.

The reserve remains exclusive since we host a maximum of 30 guests at any given point in time.

The traditional decor reflects South Africa’s vibrant atmosphere while neutral tones set an ambiance of classic elegance.

Bungalows range from 35 to 45 m² and offer privacy and proximity to the bushveld.

Each one sleeps two guests.

In the evenings, rangers will accompany you between buildings, offering peace of mind and insight into the surroundings.

Each Bungalow features:

Starlit skies and views of the Xanatsi Dam are all the features this luxury open-air treehouse needs, yet it is thoughtfully furnished to bring stylish outdoor comfort.

Shortly before sunset, a guide will escort you to the dam, where complete privacy and an unforgettable experience awaits.

The Giraffe’s Nest Hide sleeps two guests and is only available to guests staying at Motswari or Geiger’s Camp.

Charged at an additional cost and must be booked in advance, subject to availability.

Your visit to Motswari and Giraffe’s Nest Hide includes brunch, high tea (late lunch), and dinner – each traditional South African meal being a special occasion that celebrates cuisine and culture.

Indulge in a fresh, buffet-style continental breakfast and a generous selection of cooked meals on the veranda, while taking in the crisp bush air and natural scenery.

Animals can often be spotted drinking from the nearby river or walking through the bush. Monkeys are frequent visitors.

Experience elegant bush dining in the open-air boma, framed by trees and lit by lanterns and an open fire pit.

Hearty drumming signals the start of dinners and creates a memorable atmosphere. 

Enjoy pre-dinner drinks, nightcaps, or coffees at the bar and lunch in the lounge area, where guests also meet for coffee and snacks before setting off for an early-morning game drive.

Safari at Motswari Private Game Reserve:

Create spectacular memories during your safari visit, exploring the Timbavati and Umbabat Nature Reserves and Greater Kruger National Park or simply making the most of Motswari’s exceptional amenities and activities, from game viewing and bird watching to unwinding in style.

Game Drives take place in a shared open Land Rover and are led by professional field guides and trackers who share valuable insight into the wild.

This option is inclusive of two drives per day.

Explore the spectacular Timbavati and Umbabat regions of Limpopo on foot, with our experienced and knowledgeable guides.

The terrain varies from woodland-like to more classical bushveld, offering an incredible variety of sightings, tracking opportunities, and birding adventures.
